Here is what to expect for your cheese:
- We ship cheese orders Monday- Wednesday during November and December. Other months of the year, typically only on Monday. This allows your cheese to arrive before the weekend. If we are shipping to a state that is 4 transit days or more away from Michigan it will also only be shipped on a Monday. Please contact Leelanau Cheese if you need to delay delivery or need to upgrade your order to a guaranteed delivery service.
- We use UPS to ship. Expect another email with your UPS tracking number on one of our shipping days, as explained above. Leelanau Cheese cannot be held responsible for packages not delivered within a desired timeframe if a guaranteed shipping option was not selected. Standard ground service has approximate shipping times. UPS will only offer refunds for late deliveries if guaranteed or expedited service is selected.
- While cheese is a perishable item, our raclette varieties have been aged above refrigeration temperatures, so your cheese may arrive at room temperature, and that's ok! We will package your order based on the time of the year and the region of the U.S. we are shipping to. For example, when we ship to warmer climates or during the summer ice packs may be used to keep the cheese chilled longer, but may be thawed by the time of delivery. But when we ship to Northern states during winter months no ice packs are needed. Always refrigerate the cheese once it has been delivered.
